Tell us about how your business got started.
The Burnt Chef Project was founded to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health in the hospitality industry. What started as a passion project has grown into a global movement, providing education, resources, and support to hospitality professionals at all levels.

What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?
We love the innovation and dedication in this industry. From the latest kitchen tech to the teams behind it, there’s a shared drive to create sustainable, efficient, and people-focused solutions. We're also seeing how some businesses in the equipment industry are dedicated to supporting the teams on the ground they genuinely care about the people using their products.

What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?
Raising awareness and driving real change. While the conversation around mental health is growing, there’s still work to do in ensuring businesses prioritise the wellbeing of their teams. Ensuring we have the funds to support the huge need for our services is always a challenge, so fundraising is key for us,

What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?
The opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders who are passionate about sustainability and wellbeing. FEA provides a fantastic platform to connect, share knowledge, and work towards a healthier hospitality sector.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Mental health is just as important as physical health. We’re here to support businesses in creating positive, sustainable work environments where their teams can thrive that includes the equipment suppliers, all the way through the food and suply chain to the food on the table.
