New Member Spotlight on Magnete Ltd
Daniel Damme, Director of our newest FEA member company, Magnete Ltd, kindly answered a few questions for us. Here is more about what Magnete is all about!
What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?
FEA and Magnete are a natural fit. Providing expert advice and jointly moving the FOG Control sector forward. Looking at FEA as an organisation it seems to be perfect platform to reach a broader audience with our grease management message as well as a place to connect with competitors and like minded organisations. Given the reputation of excellence of the FEA, it was really a no brainer to join.
Tell us about how your business got started.
The decision to start Magnete was driven by the desire for change both in my personal life and in the foodservice equipment industry I was working in at the time. I simply wanted to "Win the day" and a leading US manufacturer gave me the opportunity. Thermaco has been making High-Performance Grease Traps since 1984 and the time felt right to introduce the products to a wider audience in the UK and the rest of Europe. Three years on, my goal to "win the day" is achieved more often than not, and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?
Through my professional journey I have been focusing on making a positive impact on people, the planet, and organisations I have been working with. I was fortunate to learn from the best across the foodservice equipment industry sectors. Putting people at the centre and coming up with new innovative concepts is what I love most about the foodservice equipment industry.
What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?
Covid has probably been the biggest challenge and overall driver for change since we started our endeavour in 2019. The biggest test right now is a short term planning horizon with government policy, exchange rates, micro and macro economic drivers changing on an almost weekly basis.
Net-Zero will probably pose the biggest long term challenge. We are currently addressing these challenges with new ideas and concepts to lead the sector into a carbon neutral future. One thing that will never change is our desire to partner with incredible people to jointly make a difference with.
Anything else you’d like to add?
At Magnete we work with a global team of engineers, scientists and industry experts, with a common goal to make a positive environmental, social and economical impact. We are driven by curiosity and collaboration and are looking to progress with innovative technologies and related practices. We are known for the quality and integrity in our work.
