The cost (to include refreshments and City & Guilds Certificate) is now £435.00 per candidate + VAT for employees of CESA and CEDA member companies. The cost for non-member company employees is £635.00 plus VAT.
Having appropriately trained and certified staff is essential in any business. This is especially the case for service and manufacturing staff. The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) and the Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA), both represented in the CESRB (Catering Equipment Standards and Registrations Board), have worked together with British Gas to deliver their Basic Electrical Skills training. It will allow engineers to demonstrate their knowledge of basic electrical systems and tasks, and receive City and Guilds certification.
The three day course is initially aimed at CESA/CEDA member companies, is designed to teach applicants how to recognise safe working practices relating to electricity in the workplace. Applicants will learn the fundamental principles of electrical energy, how to perform routine electrical tasks at a basic level, and basic first aid related to electrical hazards.
Course Aims
At the end of this course candidates will:
•Have an understanding of the fundamental aspects of electrical energy.
•Be aware of the need for safety related to electrical systems.
•Be familiar with basic electrical components & test instruments.
•Be familiar with simple electrical circuit arrangements.
•Be familiar with electrical regulations.
•Know how to perform safe isolation of electrical equipment.
