Keith Warren wins the FEA Donald Bird Award 2023
This year’s recipient of the 2023 FEA Donald Bird Award is FEA's own former Chief Executive, Keith Warren. The award was presented at the annual Light Equipment and Tableware Forum on the 16th of May.
Keith is one of the most respected and liked figures in the foodservice industry. As a tireless supporter of the foodservice equipment industry, his challenging schedule meant he worked long hours, spending much of his time travelling to attend meetings, conferences and events and constantly promoting the interests of the members.
In the 21 years since he was appointed director, FEA/CESA has become one of the most dynamic trade associations in the UK, developing initiatives to help its members meet the challenges of an increasingly complex market.
He and Donald Bird led the move to incorporate the Catering Utensils Association into CESA in the early 2000s and continued to lead the Association to many great achievements and through many challenging times, with drive and commitment. He’s worked to promote the industry, driving the sector forward and ensuring that its voice is heard in the right corridors.
Under his guidance, the FEA has grown to be the largest foodservice equipment association, the independent voice representing the majority of the equipment companies that supply and service the HoReCa industry. The association’s influence has increased significantly, too, with its key people regularly talking to legislators and advising on areas as diverse as trade agreements, sustainability and standards.
Truly a person who has “gone the extra mile,” using his knowledge and experience, he has followed in Donald Bird’s footsteps to show the utmost dedication and commitment to the industry.
