Tickets now on sale for The Clink Charity Ball 2018

Pioneering prisoner rehabilitation initiative The Clink Charity has launched bookings for its third annual dazzling fundraiser, The Clink Charity Ball 2018 (#ClinkBall18), in association with venue partner Royal Lancaster London on Hyde Park.

Taking place on Friday 12 January 2018, the night of fun and philanthropy will be hosted at the spectacular Royal Lancaster Hotel and will raise crucial funds to support the charity’s aim in reducing reoffending rates through work experience, hospitality training and education to encourage their rehabilitation.

The occasion will also help to further develop the Clink’s training projects across Her Majesty’s Prison Estate, following the success of existing schemes at HMP Brixton, HMP High Down, HMP Cardiff, HMP Styal and HMP Send.

Keeping with the Clink’s mission of developing long term careers in the hospitality sector, students from Lambeth College, Westminster Kingsway College and University of West London will take to the kitchens and front of house, Clink graduates, apprentices from Lancaster London and young people from the Centrepoint scheme, to deliver a mouth-watering menu

Guests will enjoy an all-British four-course menu using locally sourced ingredients all kindly provided by Bidfood, with Champagne and wine donated by Booker. Johnson Stalbridge Linen Services has generously provided the table linen for the whole event. A s part of The Clink’s commitment to training and developing long-term careers in the hospitality sector, each course will be prepared by the college students and overseen by a celebrity chef, and served by Centrepoint students, clink graduates and prisoners.

An auction and table raffle with fabulous prizes generously contributed by our sponsors will also take place to raise additional funds, alongside live music and hearing from several Clink graduates.

Touching upon the success of the 2016 and 2017 Clink Charity Balls, which raised a combined total of £80,000, Chris Moore, Chief Executive of the Clink Charity, said: “Each year we plan for our annual event to be bigger and better than the last and we’ve been overwhelmed by the staggering generosity of the guests and our industry supporters over the past two years. The money raised at each ball goes directly towards brand new Clink projects and providing support to graduates as they re-enter society, gain employment and find their independence. I look forward to welcoming guests for a brilliant evening of fundraising and celebrating The Clink Charity’s achievements.”

The Clink Charity plans to see more than 1,000 highly trained hospitality professionals released from prison each year, a critical move in helping to fill the severe skills gap the industry is currently facing and aid in prisoner rehabilitation.
