FEA Apprentice of the Year

The FEA Industry Apprentice of the Year Award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional contribution of new starters to their workplace during the past 12-months.

The award sponsor, John Gilbert, is a lifelong supporter of developing and encouraging the next generation of foodservice equipment professionals to thrive and develop within the industry. Through John’s award sponsorship the FEA are proud to support and highlight the importance that the next generation play in upholding standards, developing important skills, and moving the foodservice industry forward.

Reaping the rewards of hard work – a brilliant opportunity

 Submissions are welcome from new starters, apprentices, and trainees from any discipline within a FEA member company. Entrants need to meet one of the criteria below, they must either:

  • currently be undertaking an apprenticeship or workplace onboarding training programme.
  • or have completed an apprenticeship or workplace onboarding training programme within the past 12-months.

The winner of the FEA Industry Apprentice of the Year will enjoy:

  • The presentation of the award at the FEA Conference from award sponsor John Gilbert.
  • £1000 cash prize
  • A bursary to cover the cost of participating in the PFS and CFSP courses.
  • A place at the FEA Conference, including accommodation for one night and travel costs.

In addition to the amazing prizes above the winner will also benefit from:

  • The accolade of being named FEA Apprentice of the Year in recognition of their hard work and workplace demeanour.
  • Industry-wide recognition attributed to their commitment to personal progression within the catering equipment and foodservice industries.

Judging Criteria

Judges are looking for individuals who can showcase their applied commitment, contribution, and resulting success in the workplace. Entrants will be judged on the following criteria, and entrants are encouraged to seek the support of a colleague or family member to complete the application:

  • Commitment: Demonstrating commitment to personal development and progression.
  • Contribution: Showing outstanding contribution to their workplace - in particular, areas or projects where they have exceeded expectations.
  • Success: Demonstrating inspirational levels of achievement and attainment.
