Tell us about how your business got started.

EPAS is a family-owned manufacturer based in Northern Ireland, established to address the growing environmental and operational challenges caused by fats, oils and grease (FOG) in commercial kitchens. The focus has been on designing and manufacturing proactive drainage protection solutions that prevent blockages at source, reduce environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance. Our GreaseShield® and FilterShield™ are globally recognised and independently verified for their environmental performance.

What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?

The foodservice equipment sector is innovative, technically driven and essential to the success of hospitality and catering operations. We value its commitment to high standards, compliance and continuous improvement, alongside an increasing emphasis on sustainability and measurable environmental responsibility.

What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?

There is a growing demand for transparency and independently verified environmental data. In response, EPAS has invested significantly in publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for both GreaseShield® and FilterShield™, providing clear lifecycle and carbon impact data. Achieving ISO 14068-1 Carbon Neutrality and PAS 2060 certification demonstrates our commitment to substantiated action rather than unverified claims.

What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?

FEA’s strong technical leadership, respected industry voice and commitment to best practice were key factors in our decision to join. We are keen to collaborate with fellow members, contribute to sector guidance and support initiatives that advance compliance, innovation and sustainability across the industry.
