Tell us how your business got started.

Elgin Bay were established in 2001, providing design and consultancy services across the food and catering industry. With an extensive background in product development, the business looked to partner with leading global manufacturers to deliver specialist solutions.

Over the past 25 years, Elgin Bay have forged a successful relationships with leading global brands to deliver world class solutions in odour abatement, fat and grease removal and demand control kitchen ventilation. Our combined experience and knowledge has resulted in Elgin Bay becoming the exclusive distributor of Jimco UVC solutions and Melink Intellihood. Together we have 30+ years of experience and Elgin Bay continue to work on design and development along side our counterparts in Denmark and the USA respectively. Our 25 years in the UK market has enabled us to establish a strong and consistent supply chain.

At Elgin Bay, we believe that no other company's technology offers a solution that is as environmentally friendly or can deliver consistent high levels of pollution and energy reduction.

What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?

The foodservice industry is extremely forward thinking when it comes to pollution control and energy savings. The FEA are particularly influential in providing guidance to the sector and ensuring high levels of deliverables are achieved. It’s also great to see all its members working together to drive continuous improvement and sustainability measures across the industry.

What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?

The biggest challenges we have at the minute is ensuring our clients do not remove essential pollution and energy saving technology as part of a value engineering process. Consultants are designing systems in for them to be removed to save money. As a group we need to educate them based on ongoing operational costs.

What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?

The FEA are essential in driving improvement within the sector and it’s great to join a forward thinking organisation. We are excited to work closely with other members and technical teams.
