New Member Spotlight on Eat PR & Marketing

Andrew Taylor C.F.S.P., Founder and Director of Eat PR & Marketing gave us a few moments of his time to talk about joining the FEA.

1. Tell us how your business got started?
Eat PR & Marketing was founded in 2021 as a specialist foodservice and hospitality agency. Having worked in hospitality throughout my career, initially as a chef before moving front of house as a bar and restaurant manager, it’s a profession that’s close to my heart and one I am truly passionate about.
Now, as a team of seven and with several decades of foodservice experience to bring to the table, the Eat PR & Marketing team combines a range of leading agency and in-house expertise, including with global equipment manufacturers, giving us a unique perspective on our role and the expectations of our clients. As such, we’ve grown to become an established, respected and most importantly, trusted agency, working with several FEA members in the process.

2. What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?
The foodservice equipment industry is a fantastic sector to support. It’s built on an incredible heritage while also being focused on technological innovation and development. What’s more, it’s an industry with people at its heart. From seeing friendly faces at events such as the FEA Conference to being able to openly ask for advice and support from those across the sector, the foodservice equipment industry is something we’re proud to be a part of.

3. What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?
The biggest challenge for us as a business is the ongoing uncertainty faced by the foodservice industry. From the long-term effects of the pandemic, to the labour shortage, logistical challenges and the cost of living crisis, it’s felt as if the industry has had to deal with one blow after another. From a PR and marketing perspective, this has impacted budgets but it’s also led to opportunities, particularly as companies look to outsource to suit their needs.

4. What are the drawing factors for joining the FEA?
The FEA is a well-respected, influential body that represents those within the foodservice equipment industry. Working directly with several FEA members, it’s important for us to have a seat at the table and be involved in the conversations and discussions that are likely to shape this great sector. Going forward, we hope to be able to play our part, through the FEA, in ensuring a sustainable and successful future for the industry.

5. Anything else you’d like to add?
It’s a real honour to work with a variety of FEA members and equipment manufacturers. We get the opportunity to witness innovation and development firsthand, and benefit from working closely with hospitality operators, business owners and the trade media on a daily basis – ensuring we remain on the pulse when it comes to trends and developments in hospitality.
