Adande is known for its unique ‘Hold the Cold’ technology and each year have brought to market new innovation in terms of refrigeration design. Their inspiration and incentive to do so is specifically attributed to solving problems having listened to what consultants, designers, operators and chefs say is critical. The award-winning innovative element of Adande technology is key to their success in the marketplace by developing and providing ‘real life’ solutions - especially with the increasing pressure on kitchen space, carbon footprint and productivity. Spawning an influx of similar looking equipment on the market - whilst at first glance appearing comparable - these cannot perform to the same standard when benchmarked to the full range of Adande’s testing criteria - repeated door/drawer openings, for instance, being critical to the temperature stability so important to food quality, freshness, waste and essential profit margins. Familiarity with the flexible control (fridge to freezer +°15 to -22°C) range - from Compact Units, the ‘pass through’ Matchbox, stackable Drawers (depth and worktop combinations together with side or rear engine options), Saladette, Blast Chilling capability to the latest A+ Fridge (0°C to +15°C) has grown worldwide. The A+ Fridge launch coincided with the mandatory European energy labelling scheme on 1 July 2016 and (at the time of writing) no other manufacturer has professional refrigeration endorsed with an A+ Label in Europe. Through rigorous R&D the A+ Fridge cooling system is significantly enhanced to deliver superior performance with the application of a high energy optimised compressor, sustainable hydrocarbon refrigerant (R600a) with low global warming potential, improvement in controller software settings, minimisation of heat loads and optimisation of the system to operate at refrigeration temperatures. In July, Adande revealed their new state-of-the-art Testing Facility, drawing the attention of the then-Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Elizabeth Truss, MP, who formally opened the facility. Adande carried out its self-certification EU label testing at the new facility but specifically went to third party labs too; considering validation as a positive reinforcement for customer confidence. The A+ Fridge, when compared to the already impressive standard VCS/VCR R600A models, has a huge energy saving of 23%. It benefits from the key Adande features around seals, easy cleaning/maintenance regime, drawer runner strength and condenser siting with all the beneficial ergonomics and plan view convenience to boot. Aligning technology with food safety and waste reduction, Adande commissions independent verification and testing via respected institutions such as Griffiths Laboratories, Westminster Kingsway College, and the expertise of specialist chefs - including product testing and endorsement through the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs. Always nurturing chef progression into the industry, Adande is proud to continue sponsoring Craft Guild membership, and supporting competition refrigeration at both UK WorldSkills Show (NEC) and Young & National Chef of the Year, (Olympia), where contending Chefs used Adande drawers in the competition cooking booths. Flexibility aligned with customisation are more than key trends - Adande have from the outset realised the flow from cooking, assembly and counter/pass need to be minimised and offer expertise direct to customers looking for advice – the technology is so different demonstrating its effect together with beneficial kitchen ergonomics and efficiency shows take up from trials being as high as 90%. Why not, ask how unique ‘Hold the Cold’ technology can help you take the heat off tricky decision making or expensive mistakes. Visit or ask for a one-to-one no obligation assessment – After all, Adande are just not the same and neither are you!
